The Seller is offering a desirable book of business focused on assurance work – audit and review. The book contains a mix of quality not-for profit organizations, churches, and religious charities. The portfolio is loyal, stable, and what many would consider to be excellent. Clients are loyal and long-term. These clients have been curated and retained over time as ideal clients.
Clients and industry colleagues often provide referrals. An excellent book to add to an existing portfolio or begin a new practice with.
Given many of the clients are NPO’s, the templates used for each client are similar which allows for economies of scale and an efficient audit and review process for current and future clients. Very low owner hours at ~817 hours per year. The Seller notes that there are excellent opportunities for a growth-minded Buyer.
Ideal Buyer
The ideal Buyer will be an LPA who is well-experienced in assurance, audit, and review work. A Buyer purchasing to begin a practice will also have strong general business knowledge. The Seller has noted that an ideal Buyer will be comfortable working with faith-based organizations. A strong relationship builder will align with the high level of service and care the clients are accustomed to. The ideal Buyer will also be a great communicator and responsive to client inquiries.
This is an ideal opportunity for several Buyer scenarios including:
- A Buyer looking to add a strong client base to an existing portfolio, and capitalize on the referrals generated by
the portfolio.
- A Buyer looking to start their own practice with a pre-built portfolio of ideal clients. A particular growth strategy the Seller has identified is the potential to hire an employee to do some of the assurance work, allowing the Buyer to focus on incoming RFP’s for audits that they’re currently turning away.
