This session will explore how cloud bookkeeping firms are valued and what factors are important in building one’s firm. We will discuss building both internal and external value in scaling a firm and tackle questions such as: How does my firm compare to others? Am I making business decisions on correct assumptions? What will my practice look like in the future? Am I missing out on opportunities? What will the value of my practice be if I ever want to sell? We will also discuss the current market for firms and what to do when a buyer comes calling.

Learning Objectives:

1.  Helping firm owners to become purposeful in growing their firms.
2. Understanding what brings internal (operational) value and external (sale) value. What makes a firm valuable to run, typically makes it valuable to sell.
3.  With buyers continually entering the market, prospective sellers need tools to navigate whether they should sell, to whom they should sell, and what a transaction can actually look like.
