About the Area
The Greater Wilmington Area sits in the southeastern part of North Carolina. Wilmington itself is a port city and is the eighth most populous city in the state. Even with the size of the city, it still holds true to a small town atmosphere and boasts a charming historic district, lively arts scene, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, a major container seaport, the Battleship North Carolina, Gothic churches, and riverfront shops.
A low-cost of living, positive growth forecast and the high quality of life that a beach community offers, it’s easy to see why large corporations like Verizon, GE-Hitachi and Corning are relocating and opening offices in the area.
